They are getting a Dawg
Apr. 20th, 2006 09:57 pmWith "They", i am refering to my family whom i live with. Now, most people would believe that i should either call the family a we or that i am an ungreatful sob. Partially the latter, but i shall explain.
I have never been a fan of dogs, or atleast not after the age of four. That was when we decided to visit a friend of the family whom owned a farm. I had spent some considerable time chasing chickens and playing with the large German Sheppard whom was the family pet. Please note the relative sizes of a 4 year-old boy and an adult German Sheppard. It was when i got pushed to the ground, sat on and generally left helpless that said sizes came to matter. I tried to escape the pin, but all i could manage was seeing all four of the adults (two of which were my folks) laughing at the scene. In my little mind, i was terrified and it seemd like an eternity before i was free. Ever since, i have been disliking dogs. Not fear or hate, but a lack of attraction towards the beasts. I am a cat person and fond of other critters, just not them.
Anywho, it was my mother and sister who decided that we _had_ to get a puppy. Regardless of my feelings on the matter, we shall be getting a beagle/irish setter mix in a few days. Bloody lovely.
