Normally on my weekends i spend time experimenting/cooking for Angela and myself. This is mostly due to a combination of efficiency (i tend to be a bit better cook), practicality (theoretically food is good to consume) and a lack of ideas of what else would be wise to do. The rest of my time practically gets devoted to cleaning the place so as to assist my own cooking efforts. This weekend was a noticeable contrast.
First was dealing with a pet peeve of mine; messy file structures on Angela's computer. I went through and systematically identified all of the various programs on her comp so that she could tell me which ones to toss. After that i did some summer cleaning and freed about a gig of her 80 gig drive (which was noticeable considering how little space she had left). I set up a proper usable menu system for her with folders and the whole nine yards. Deleted countless icons on the desktop (things like various versions of winamp and the like) and helped her divert her various files into a single local (all music in a single music folder ect). Defragged the hard drive and was generally happy. It wasn't until the next day when i was curious about what was still around filling her drive. She doesn't watch videos on her computer generally, has no big games and i was perplexed. I investigated and found out the culprit.
The last place she lived in (The Gamer House) had a fun little (big) network and Angela's computer was the backup due to the large hardrive size. Accordingly she had 40 gig worth of files from various people, mostly Josh and Queenie with a notable set of movies which i suspect are from Antra. If anyone wants their backups from then i do suggest leaving her a note so that it can be arranged before she goes all delete-y. That will bring her to closer to 30 gig used on her 80 hd rather then the 70/80 which was there before. Hell, i might even convince her to try out Ubuntu linux considering that 5-10 gig would be more then she would ever need in terms of space and she will soon have that to spare.
Then i signed up for deviantArt with her assistance and whipped up a little icon for her. Tis poor due to the restrictions on the things (50x50 and 15kb) but it exists and she happened to be happy with it. I will likely do an upgraded version for livejournal so people can see.
Oh, and the game was very good. Players tempting fate, getting nifty toys, risking much and betraying each other for personal gain. Very much fun.
