Ubuntu Linux
Jun. 26th, 2007 07:02 amSo last night i installed Ubuntu linux over my fedora core installation, largely due to bugs in the sound setting of my fedora install. I have to say that Ubuntu is pretty bloody slick at this point. No only is it easy to install, easily partitions existing drives if need be, migrates settings from an existing windows drive and has full and easy read-only access to the windows partition. Not to mention that the programs are generally pretty decent. The only problem i am currently having is the relatively low resolution of the display but i have set up my proper nVidia video card driver and have gotten the impression that the display resolution can be fixed (so as to make image editing and general browsing more effective). What can i say, i like 1280x1040 as opposed to the ubuntu default of 1024x768.
