Ok, here is a brief rundown of the weekend for all you interested parties. I will keep it brief, if only to stave off wrist pain. Next pay i am sooo getting a new chair...
Anywho, when we last left off our intrepid adventurers were tripped up by the guile of "24 hour time". Due to the male's foolishness, the 6pm train on friday night was missed and they were forced to take the 7:30am train the following morning. After arriving in the city, there was a long wander along the Rue Catherine, bejeweled with pr0n as far as the eye could see. After stopping by at a rare cafe, M'lady was indeed bribed with much chocolate in exchange for putting up with me. We then hiked on up to the B&B. This delightful place certainly had an artist's touch, with a friendly owner by the name of Denise who treated us like royalty. Pictures shall follow when they are developed by m'lady. We dropped of our weighty bags and went out to explore the Bazaar over on a nearby street. Got lured in by cheap books where we collectively spent 22$ total on 7 nice fiction paperbacks. Grabbed a pair of tops for Angela (both looking absolutely stunning on her of course) and even some economical belts.
After the shopping we ran off see the astounding (if short) museum exhibit over at Pointe-de-Calliere museum. It showed us very early japanese archeological elements, elaborating upon and increasing my knowledge of those people and the ancient culture greatly. The fact that the modern japanese people descended from Koreans, that native inhabitants before that time crafted pots circa roughly 10,000 BC. Twelve thousand year old pots, hella cool. Then some of the other works were stunning, like a pottery sea shell which is incredibly realistic. Mythological learnings also made me smile. After that, we went over to meet with both
dgg and
azraelthe7th. Met Az's son Malek and his lovely wife. After chatting we went to St. Hubert for a delicious (albeit pricy) dinner. Excellent chicken poutine. Left there and dropped Az off at his place, after which Marc proceded to drive us the short 2-3km distance to our B&B for some relaxation and then rest. It took 2 hours to get there. I kid you not, from 10:30pm till 12:30 he was driving us. The traffic was insane and near the end, roadblocks seemed to materialize a will. No room to park, soo many 1-way roads, it was madness. Had icecream then crashed hard.
The next morning was spent on a hot walk to the Mountain. We climbed Mt. Royale (less impressive then it sounds) and saw the panoramic view. In the lodge-thing at the top of the mountain is a sight. These beautiful wooden trusses in the ceilings are topped be squirrel statues. These mournful gargoyles of the furry variety watched down on us and warrented a picture for certain! Then we scampered down to meet up with Azrael for the best Shwarma in Montreal. Very much tasty, with Angela prefering the chicken and me prefering the beef. Went down to HMV where i bought a DJ Tiesto cd and a the first season of "Dead Like Me" on dvd. Angela got a trio of cd's, one of which effectively gave me money due to the specifics of the bargain. It was all good and i look foreward to trying out those multimedia items. Az drove us to the B&B then to the train station, where we subsequently traveled back to Ottawa.
My only regret is not consuming more poutine... Oh well, my arteries thank me for not doing so i suppose.
