Upgrades, Sidegrades and Downgrades

jagashYesterday started off excellently and remained that way for the most part. I slept in to a gloriously late hour of 8am then got some much needed computer time in. Hell, even managed to watch the pilot of Firefly. Then i got a ride on over to the wake of "Deals Direct", a much adored used computer store which is unfortunatly going belly up. The location over in my end of town was already gone, so we went to the other side of the city and supported them to the last. I managed to get a 256 AGP NVidia video card, a tv tuner card, a nice black keyboard to tide me over for a while, a new power supply that will work properly with my copper heatsink and a dvd burner. 199$ total after tax, a very nice upgrade i would say.
Made my way over to Angela's place, then off to buy a few things downtown. Grabbed 2 mage books (Secrets of the Ruined Temple and Legacies) which are both wasteful and enjoyable i think. Then an excellent time with John and Frances including the meeting with the cats and watching of Frailty. Much fun. Dinner with the two of them + Angela over at an excellent tasting indian place which unfortunatly made be feel less then well afterwards. Alas, it simply meant that i had to beg a ride back to Angela's place rather then taking the 20-40 minute walk. The discomfort was nodoubt aided by my messed up sleep schedule. Oh well, atleast i did manage to spend about 4 hours with m'lady and that made up for any discomfort.
Now off to Jodo and Iaido. :)
