Summery of today
Jul. 23rd, 2007 05:20 pm*Woke up, task accomplished on third try.
*Slammed head into desk multiple times in an attempt to make my computer properly functional.
*Offended friend my my horrid lack of communication skills and my own over-reaction to a certain issue. [1]
*Prepared two marinades for steaks, hopefully neither will kill me.
*Thoroughly stuck other food in mouth with the other friend.
*Spent ~4 hours cleaning out the f-ing virus from my computer and scanning to ensure that it was no longer there. According to both murphey's law and reports on the net, it will re-emerge for no apparent reason from no-where within a couple weeks.
*Worked on physics lab
Oh well, off to poison myself.
[1] Some of the gaming sources of the late seventies were not exactly bastions of equality and fairness. Misogyny, racism, prejudice against the disabled and against the unattractive was far more common and were not infrequently supported by the rules or sample adventures of the time. Accordingly i tend to be a touch reactionary against those kinds of trends and generally avoid most of the trends which have changed from the early days. Unfortunately, at least some of those are related to literary traditions which preceded the games and my relative lack of reading many writings of that time period + genre meant that i completely missed the reasonable foundations for those kinds of things.
