Day one of 5 sans transport
Jan. 5th, 2009 07:51 pmSo my normal ride to work is off on vacation in the tropics. I have been incredibly lucky to get a ride into downtown with piledhighcurls, yet my return trip is more difficult until the week is out. Today, I decided to try taking an STO milkrun to the foot of the Champlain bridge then walk across the bridge to my apartment. While my bus combination in Quebec was less then ideal, it cut down my walking time by about 20 minutes I figure. It only took me an hour and a half to get home and most of that was either warm on the bus or waiting for a bus. Partial success.
I am so happy that I have a ride back from work tomorrow. This leaves only 3 days of walking. I am so ridiculously glad that I have things so easily that I _can_ make it to work mostly under my own power if I need be and the weather won't put my life at risk. I would be even happier if Gatineau had a policy of clearing sidewalks.
