Pride in maturity
Jan. 15th, 2009 07:50 pmI realize full well that I have a problem with self-deprecation and thus I am glad when I can overcome that tendency by focusing on the things I am proud of. I think that I have matured a great deal as a person over the past 5 years. I mean, moreso then the average. I am currently employed full time at a decent place, have my own apartment and have my life somewhat on track. I am able to maintain myself fairly well and am responsible with money. Even more rare is the fact that I cook healthy, tasty and relatively cheap meals. I even have volunteering projects to advance my academics while my game writing helps me prepare for my future business venture.
In short, I'm rather proud of myself. Then again, I expect such maturity of myself because I have had so bloody much helping me out. I figure, if you are given all of the possible advantages, it's a right shame if you don't take the opportunity for personal growth.
