Question for my Friend's List

As my folks will be leaving for 2 weeks (in addition to general interest) i was wondering what each of you make as a default "i need dinner" meal?   What are those staples which are made after a hard days' work or schooling?    Recipes are appreciated though even a basic description would soothe my curiosity.
